Ribbon House (for Carl Turner Architects)

The design rationale preserves the existing pattern and proportion of the buildings along Lyham Road filling in a gap in the terrace. This new build will adjoin ‘Slip House’ (glass house on the left), and the two will connect by a glass ‘ribbon’ which forms a slot between the two homes.
The layout of the design is heavily influenced by the typical Georgian terraced house, with a part lower ground floor, and three above. It will resemble a simple contemporary brick town house, taking reference from and respecting the simple historic street pattern.
