Rockham House ( for Carl Turner Architects )

A proposal for a new single storey, four bedroom family house nestled into the Devonshire countryside. The Woolacombe House follows the natural slope of the site, moving away from its neighbours while facilitating spectacular views of the surrounding hills and towards the ocean.

The way the house steps leads one through a series of living spaces and connects the interior to the existing topography, with two internal courtyards drawing light into the centre of the plan and a partial basement below. Each facade has been designed to maximise natural light and views while minimising overlooking, using a warm palette of natural materials and textures to settle into its verdant surroundings.
